monitor classroom noise

A most asked question was ‘what can I use this data logger for?’ My most used answer to this was to use it as a noise meter.

• When I needed the class to work, but needed to be elsewhere for a few minutes, I’d start a sound sensor recording the noise in the room.
• On my return the trace told me how much noise had occurred. In later years, a webcam would be another tool for this, but the sound sensor could record and show noise on a graph.
