SenSci data logger 2002 (from Valiant Technology)

Verdict: Low cost makes equipping whole classes affordable.

Pros: Very low cost for lots of capability

Cons:

Valiant Technology, makers of the Roamer, launched ‘SenSci’ in 2002 - a low cost data logger for primary and secondary schools. It arrived in 2003 with a three-in-one sensor module to measure temperature light and sound levels. A menu allows you to set when it will start taking readings, how often it takes them and more. Pupils will appreciate how its LCD screen can display live readings as numbers, a graph or a bar gauge. In addition, you can record directly into a PC using the ‘Prodigy’ software supplied.

Future proof rating: Valiant Technology, the makers of the successful Roamer have had a strong set of good value products for design & technology. SenSci is their first foray into data logging equipment.
