Review of The IT in Science book of Data logging and control

Review of the first 1993 edition of The IT in Science Book of data logging and Control  132 pp A4 wirebound. London: IT in Science.

... a lengthy collection of well-written and freely copiable worksheets, with excellent support material. Most of the worksheets cover sensing at middle and post-primary levels...

As the title tells us, there are also practical ideas on data logging and control, these covering: the whole Key Stage range. While the software and hardware mentioned are the basis of all work described in detail, the author is right that the principles and techniques transfer readily to other resources. The supporting material is indeed excellent, from its linkage with SATs to the detailed coverage of SoftLab. Indeed the whole book is outstanding in its comprehensive nature, its potential appeal to even the less experienced of teachers, its layout and language.
