Casio EA-200 Data Analyzer

The Casio EA-200 Data Analyzer is a fast data collection device that connects to the Casio FX-2 Graphic Calculator. While there are only three Casio sensors, the full range of everything you can measure is made up by the established Vernier range.

Pros: a good way forward for maths people using Casio calculators. A great way for science and maths to work together. Uses the well established range of Vernier sensors.

Cons: No track record in science

Verdict: it’s never been clear to me at least whether Casio is really here and serious. If the kit appeals, be sure to get all you need as I fear that when it’s gone, it’s gone.

Future proof rating: Casio has shown little evidence, in the UK at least, to develop any lingering presence in the data logging arena. Over the years I’ve seen many companies fly into education, find no quick and easy money here and then fly out again. In the process they leave their customers stranded.
