Think of an animal and I'll try to guess it

We started this Animal branching database in 1996 and expanded it in 2000 with the help of 'Flexitree 2'. Literally hundreds (really) of people have emailed* to say "oi, you've no tiger in your database", so we added a number of animals. Some of the clues here are a bit wacky to encourage you to make your own. It's a good thinking exercise and not so easy to find good questions. The easiest bit of advice for making a key is to stick to questions about the animal's habitat or its adaptations.

If I do not know your animal

  • Think of a question that distinguishes your animal from the previous one.

  • Then send off the name of your animal* and your question!

  • Click 'Go Back' to retrace your steps.
