Even the most basic data logging kit can deliver science teaching objectives. If you need to teach about the shape of a cooling curve then you do not need very much equipment. If you want everyone in the class to use sensors you need quite a lot.
But is 'everyone doing data logging' the point of the exercise? Can we start with something else in mind? Can we use sensors, for example, to explain why a cooling curve is so shaped?
In our main section, we aim to inform about what those 'something elses' might be. At the same time, we give our verdict on the equipment you can buy. Yes - all will help achieve your learning objectives, but some do that more easily and more reliably than others. And since we do not like throwing out old equipment, we also offer a measure of how much each brand is future-proof. |
